Andrea Okerstrom, PMHNP-S

Andrea Okerstrom is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from North Dakota State University and a master’s in nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health from the University of North Dakota.

With extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care settings, Andrea is skilled in treating a wide range of acute and chronic mental health conditions in individuals ages 4 and up. Her approach is grounded in a holistic, collaborative model of care, where she works closely with each patient to develop and implement a personalized treatment plan. She believes in empowering her patients by minimizing the number of medications prescribed, while still effectively managing symptoms to improve quality of life.

A key component of her practice is the inclusion of non-pharmacological methods whenever possible. Understanding that healing is not a linear process, she strives to support her patients through all stages of their mental health journey, promoting wellness through a combination of therapeutic interventions and mindful medication management.

Her goal is simple: to help each individual experience more good days than bad and empower them to feel like the best version of themselves. By fostering an open and trusting therapeutic relationship, Andrea is committed to guiding patients toward sustainable, long-term mental health and well-being.
